Fort Plain, June 3rd Town of Minden History Fair
This event in historic Fort Plain was a town event which included several historic departments of the local government. The Fort Plain museum, historic bottle collections, town historian, town supervisor, etc. were all there with displays touting the town's rich history.
18th Century Toys and Games added a kids section to the fair and we were graced by many charming visitors.
Hudson Valley Irish Festival, Peakskill, NY September 24th; all day! Irish music, costumes, food, 18th Century Toys, Games and Period costumes! Come enjoy this awesome event on the banks of the Hudson River. Reconnect with your Irish roots, or enjoy the Irish flavor in the Hudson Valley!
Saratoga Frost Faire! Cold Weather Fun Come do a little dancing, set an 18th century table, dress like you're 250 years old and play with period toys! Beautiful Stillwater, NY in the wintertime.
September 26, 2015 Peekskill Irish Festival
Pipes, step dancing, redheads and freckles! A great fun crowd enjoying and celebrating heritage. This amazing young man and his dad spent quite a while writing in the style of ancient Irish documents! What a joy to spend a beautiful day on the banks of the Hudson River in lovely Peekskill.
May 16, 2015 Ft. Plain Boy Scout History Day Hundreds of Boy Scouts will descend on The Fort Plain Museum for a weekend of fantastic historic events. Outdoor cooking, Native American studies, 18th Century Toys and Games!
April 11, 2015 Siena College Day of Living History A free day sponsored by the Siena College History Club for everyone interested in History. From the French and Indian War to local historic sites; come see demonstrations of early NYS life, and interact with living historians.

June 28-29 10-5:00 Fort Ontario French and Indian War Encampment On the beautiful Lake Ontario, this fort hosts an invitation to families and history buffs for a weekend of history! Enjoy battles, music, workshops and look for my Toys and Games!
July 2- Open-fire cooking: help prepare 18th Century dishes over a cook fire. July 9- Toys and Games: just come have some fun... if its hot, we have some very cool games! (ps- its my birthday!) July 16- English Country Dancing for children: fun on the patio; look for the BIG hair! July 23- Laundry and Dress-up: Get some 18th century duds on and get your suds on! Wash, wring and hang without getting TOO wet!
August 16-17; 10-5pm Montauk Lighthouse Weekend It is our joy to head down to the Montauk Lighthouse to share our toys and games, and Steve's leather work with the weekend's guests. Check out the Kings of the Coast Pirates, Historian Stewart Vorpahl, and many other programs throughout the weekend.
June14: 10am-5pm Fort Ontario Revolutionary War Encampment A huge encampment of Revolutionary War soldiers, including cooking tents, sutlers and many activities for all ages. , Look for my toys and games there! A great place for kites and pinwheels!
June 21-22; 10am-9pm, 10am-5pm Freedom Fest 2014Camp Pinnacle, Voorheesville, NY. This patriotic event promises plenty of family fun, musical entertainment, military reenactments, craft and food vendors, historic dramas, current event speakers, and much more. May 31-June 1;11am-5pm The Blenheim-Gilboa Visitors CenterAmerican Mountain Men/Eagle Festival/Early American Craftspeople weekend event. Look for my Toys and Games next to the visitor center!
AFTER ACTION REPORT- A beautiful weekend of eagles, toys and games, Mountain Men and traditional basket maker. Add to that a blacksmith making S-hooks with kids, snow-cones and tours of the beautiful house! Couldn't have had more gracious hosts! and tons of isitors.
April 12; 10am-5pm Sienna College Day of Living HistoryThis is a great timeline event organized by the Sienna College History Club. Come spend the day at this awesome event! Great for ALL ages! Interactive, group and family friendly. I'll be there with toys and games! AFTER-ACTION REPORT- It was a beautiful day! Lots of visitors, and tons of fun, displays and action.
May 18-19 Fort Plain Boy Scout Camporee AFTER ACTION REPORT- We had a beautiful day and squeezed every bit of fun we could out of it. There were displays, presentations, all sorts of activities and acres and acres to play in! Add 60 or so boy scouts and you have a fantastic event! They wouldn't leave to go EAT lunch!! 1st-2nd- Town of Western Heritage Days A great Hometown event with lots going on! Town museum open, various and sundry demonstrations and a battle reenactment! Raise the Tree of Liberty with local patriots! And come play toys and games as well as do some easy-for-kids open fire cooking.
16th- Father's Day- New Windsor Cantonment, Vails Gate, NY Toys and Games 1-4pm Other amusements; petting zoo, puppet show, etc.
26th- Frost Faire- Saratoga Battlefield Visitor Center English Country Dancing throughout the day. Lots of other activities for the whole family! No charge. 11-4pm Thanks to Gina, Bill, Jennifer, and the whole staff at the Saratoga Visitor center, including the lunch provider! The event was great! Mars Heritage Chocolates were there, tinpunching, cannon and musket drills, dancing and dress up, and lots more!
